Tom’s interview with ET moments after his GG nod:

After six Golden Globe nominations and 3 wins, Tom Cruise sure knows how to make an entrance. Tom choppered in just after sunrise, but on his way over with his little chat with Jann, he discovered, he was locked in.

Tom: I’ll just climb over

No problem for Tom Terrific, he perceeded to do what any true-blue action star would do — he scaled a six-foot spiked fence.

Jann– Now first of all, that entrance. Does it get more Hollywood than that? The samurai workin’ out? It obviously paid off climbing the fence

Tom: I can climb the fence. Not very graceful, but I got over it.

Jann: One moment, was there ‘god I hope I get over this fence?’

Tom: Most definetely. That moment I was thinking you know, my right foot is slipping through those bars. I was just happy I made it over.

Jann: We all were

Tom: I rather be lying on the pavement there than on top of that.

Jann: Yeah..that would be a terrible shot in the front page of the paper.

Tom: That would just wouldn’t be good. You know what, I wouldn’t be as concerned about the shot, I’d be more concerned about other things at that particular moment.

Tom celebrated his best actor nomination with a call from his Last Samurai co-star and best supporting actor nominee- Ken Watanabe. He dialed long distance from Osaka, Japan.

Tom(talking to Ken on the phone): You know, I have a few cameras around here

Tom: I’m gonna call you- can I call you back in about 10 minutes?

Jann: This is your 6th nomination. That’s pretty-

Tom: That’s not bad. 6 isn’t bad. That’s good.

Jann: You know, it’s just the begining.

Tom: We’re just gettin’ rollin’ here.

Jann: We’re just gettin’ warmed up. The kids have got to be, when the wake up and hear this- so proud. Mom and Dad nominated! I mean, you know, that’s pretty cool.

Tom: I don’t, you know, as I said, in our house it’s a nice thing. It’s a great thing when it happens. They are a little more casual you know. “Oh good” you know “Let’s go play. Let’s hang out”
