Katie Holmes’ marriage ‘full of thrills’

Katie Holmes says marriage to Tom Cruise has not changed her.

“With everything that’s happened, I still feel the same,” she tells Parade magazine in its December 23 issue. “I’m really happy being a mom, being a wife.”

The 29-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” alum has seen her profile rise since Cruise publicly declared his love for her on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in May 2005.

Holmes says she understands the curiosity about her life with Cruise, 45, an Oscar nominee for his roles in “Born on the Fourth of July,” “Jerry Maguire” and “Magnolia.”

“I appreciate the man that I’m with and my family and my work. I feel very lucky to be able to say that. I mean, what we do in a week is extraordinary,” she says.

“I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51 (a World War II fighter),” says Holmes. “That’s what is so inspiring about being with him – constant thrills and joy.”

Holmes and Cruise were married in November 2006, seven months after the birth of their daughter, Suri, who tags along on their travels.

“We don’t like to be away from her,” Holmes says. “She’s very aware. We take her to the park in each city and walk around. This summer, when Tom was working in Germany, she’d wake up and say, ‘Hello, Berlin.”‘

Holmes, who co-stars with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah in the upcoming comedy “Mad Money,” says she’s looking forward to spending the holidays in Telluride, Colorado, with Cruise and their relatives.

“We always make a lot of sugar cookies with decorating and sprinkles,” she says. “Suri will be in the dough everywhere.” (Source: Yahoo! News)

Brit has been a staple at the hotel lately, and a swarm of paparazzi have camped out to catch a glimpse of her. She was even seen exiting the hotel later that night. (Source: Extra tv)

Katie Holmes On Marriage To Tom: ‘We Have So Much Fun’
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 20, 2007) – Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have created a happy blended family.

Katie Holmes sat down with Parade Magazine and opened up about their family life and her marriage to Tom Cruise.

It appears Tom’s children with Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor, are taking quite well to their stepmother.

“They call me ‘Mom’,” Katie tells Parade. The admiration appears to be mutual, with Katie saying of Isabella and Connor, “[they’re] incredible, really smart, and kind.”

Katie and Tom and all the kids are busy prepping for the holidays. She’s looking forward to Suri’s second Christmas.

“Last year was Suri’s first Christmas. It was so spectacular to share the holidays with her,” Katie told the magazine. “It really meant the world to me. To be able to create a tradition for your children is one of the best gifts you can have.”

The best gift for Katie might be her one-year marriage to Tom.

“Oh, we have so much fun,” she told Parade. “Tom has introduced me to so many new experiences. I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51. That’s what is so inspiring about being with him – constant thrills and joy.”

One recent thrill for Katie was returning to the big screen, after taking two years off. She will star next in “Mad Money” alongside Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah, which opens on January 18, 2008.

She loved the girl-time with her co-stars, saying, “We got our morning female talk in the trailer every day.” (Source: Access Hollywood)
