Spielberg feted by friends including Tom Cruise

Not much news lately… not much at all, but I’ve found something tonight:

Spielberg to receive Chicago Film Fest Award Saturday
Steven Spielberg will be receiving the Chicago International Film Festival’s Gold Hugo Lifetime Achievement Award this Saturday night at the Fest’s Summer Gala.

This year marks the 42nd year of the annual film festival here in the Midwest, and Steven Spielberg will be in town for the event marking his three decades of legendary works in the motion picture industry. Spielberg will be feted by friends and collaborators including Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Liam Neeson, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, George Lucas, John Williams, cinematographer Janusz Kaminski (a one-time Chicago native), and DreamWorks partners Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen.

SpielbergFilms will be covering the event from the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers red carpet and from inside the ceremony to give our readers a view into this exciting night of honors for our favorite filmmaker. Check back later this weekend for the full report!

Congratulations to Mr. Spielberg on receiving this honor from the Chicago International Film Festival, and thank you for three decades of incomparable cinema. (Spielbergfilms.com)
