Tom Cruise’s ‘Valkyrie’ premieres in Berlin

Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes premiered his WWII thriller ‘Valkyrie’ in the homeland where it was filmed and its historic storyline took place — and ET was there! Tom was so busy signing autographs, posing for pictures and talking to the press; was he able to catch any of the inaugural excitement, including Barack Obama’s speech, in Washington D.C.?

“I’ve got it all on tape, so I’m going to be seeing the whole thing,” he assured us. “I’ve heard pieces of it also.”

In ‘Valkyrie,’ Tom plays real-life German hero Col. Claus Graf von Stauffenberg, who risked his life in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler at the height of World War II. The film is directed by Bryan Singer (‘The Usual Suspects,’ ‘X-Men,’ ‘Superman Returns’).

“This is a very exciting evening; we’ve been looking forward to this for two years since we first met on the film,” Tom tells ET. “It’s very special. I’m looking forward to experiencing it with this audience.”
