Tom at Will Smith’s hand printing ceremony

Will was in Hollywood on Monday, forever cementing his handprints outside of the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Along with his handprints, which will now grace the sidewalk alongside some of Hollywood’s greatest legends, Will also carved the message “Change The World.”

“That kind of caught me off guard a little bit, so I’m honored,” Will told Access after the handprint ceremony. “It popped bigger in my mind when I got here than I had played it over the last couple of days, so I’m excited.”

And just as Will is lending his celebrity status to Obama, some of Will’s friends were on hand Monday to support their good friend.

Joining Will at the ceremony was pal Tom Cruise, along with Will’s youngest kids Willow and Jaden, as well as his “I Am Legend” co-star – Abbey the German Shepherd. His wife, Jada, was not present. (Source: Access Hollywood)

David Beckham, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes cause chaos at L.A. Spice Girls show

Lyndsey Parker Wed Dec 5, 9:00 PM ET

It was greatest-show-on-earth evening, featuring Roberto Cavalli-designed showgirl costumes; a pack of S&M leatherboys led on leashes; a candy-cane-striped poledance routine; a troupe of bullfighters; a cover of Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” by Melanie Brown; a catwalk march to RuPaul’s “Supermodel” by Victoria Beckham; a gymnastic performance of “It’s Raining Men” by Geri Halliwell; a medley of ’70s disco hits; and enough confetti to probably stuff all the pinatas in Mexico. But the Spice Girls’ December 5 Los Angeles concert was still nearly upstaged by a few superstar guests.

Shortly before the Spice Girls played their comeback concert at L.A.’s Staples Center (the third sold-out date on their reunion tour, following the December 2 kickoff in Vancouver, Canada and December 4 in San Jose, CA), commotion filled the stadium when Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and their daughter Suri were sighted in a glass-walled private booth, sitting with David Beckham and the Beckhams’ sons.

Cruise stood on the balcony to wave to screaming fans and pose for photo opps, and the screams escalated to even more eardrum-splitting decibel levels when David Beckham emerged to purchase cotton candy from a passing vendor.

Other notable Spice-loving spectators in the audience included Perez Hilton (wearing a “Spice Up Your Life” T-shirt); fellow notorious “celwebrity” blogger Jeffree Star; and countless females (and some males) decked out in sequins, feather boas, platform boots, and Union Jack minidresses.

The Spice Girls’ reunion tour continues Friday, December 7, with a second night at the Staples Center. Check out the Spice Girls’ photo gallery for photos from their December 5 Los Angeles concert. (Source: Yahoo! News)

Tom & Katie Surprise Spice Girls at Rehearsal

The Spice Girls’ upcoming reunion tour may provoke a good deal of nostalgia, but the group has already won over at least one brand-new fan: Suri Cruise.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes surprised the group with an impromptu visit to rehearsals in Los Angeles recently, and daughter Suri danced along to the music, according to the Spice Girls’ official Web site.

Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, explained that she and husband David “are great friends with Tom and Katie. It was lovely of them to come down to rehearsals, a really nice surprise.”

And it turns out Suri wasn’t the only one digging the visit.

“Katie has told me before that she used to be a big Spice fan so it was great for her to meet the other girls,” Beckham said.

The group recently performed together at the taping of the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – their first time onstage together in a decade.

The Return Of The Spice Girls tour kicks off in Vancouver this Sunday.

Friends and family turn out to honour Tom at black tie gala

By hellomagazine.com – Wednesday, November 7 07:13 pm

Manhattan eatery Cipriani played host to some of the biggest names in Hollywood on Tuesday night as Tinseltown stars attended a Museum Of The Moving Image Black Tie Salute To Tom Cruise. The 45-year-old star, who now runs United Artists film studio with business partner Paula Wagner, was joined by leading ladies Julianne Moore and Ellen Barkin, plus his mum, Mary Lee Mapother, and wife Katie Holmes.

The evening tribute included clips from Tom’s films introduced by directors he has worked with, including Far And Away’s Ron Howard and Rain Man director Barry Levinson. Also among the stellar crowd were his War Of The Worlds co-star Tim Robbins and Kenneth Branagh, who appears alongside Tom in the upcoming Valkyrie.

“Salutes are traditionally for actors or directors,” says museum director Rochelle Slovin. “Some of these actors and directors are multitasking, and Tom Cruise is one of them. His position with United Artists puts him into a whole new phase of his career, and that makes it a perfect time to honour him.”

Despite it being his big night, the Top Gun actor was, as ever, focused on his beautiful other-half – living up to his romantic reputation with a chivalrous kiss on Katie’s hand. (Source: Yahoo! News UK & Ireland)

Cruise clocks in for timely movie honor

By Donna Freydkin, USA TODAY
NEW YORK — Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but the actor is more punctual than the U.S. Naval Observatory clock. And every bit as efficient.

Cruise arrived 30 minutes early to Tuesday’s Museum of the Moving Image gala honoring him at Cipriani. He mingled with the frenzied fans clustered outside the venue, and once indoors, spent hours taking one photo after another with grinning fans, gracious and friendly with every person as willowy wife Katie Holmes stood near him and smiled.

Holmes walked in with Cruise then chatted with the night’s bigwigs, but not the media. “I’m from Ohio, I have family in Massachusetts,” Holmes told an event staffer, before heading toward the bar and dining area.

Cruise, 45, was visibly moved by the event and what it meant.

“It’s a big night,” said Cruise, who a year ago was dropped by longtime studio Paramount then revived his career by starting his own production company. “Tonight is about movies.”

What’s he most proud of, professionally?

“That’s a hard one. That’s hard to say. I’m really proud to have made the films I’ve made,” he said. “I guess I’ve never taken for granted the opportunities that I’ve had. This is a dream for me, truly it is.”

In Lions for Lambs, his new thriller opening Friday, Cruise plays a slippery senator with dreams of being president. But the actor says he has no political aspirations. “They do what they do. Playing this character, I certainly have greater understanding of what it is they’re up against. I do what I do. I love making movies. This is a dream for me.”

As for Lions, it was something of a dream come true for him. “Tonight, here I am. I made a picture with (Robert) Redford and Meryl Streep. These legends. I remember at the beginning of my career looking at their lives and their films. To have that experience, it’s come full circle for me tonight.”

Holmes famously ran the New York City Marathon on Sunday, inspiring Cruise to also break more of a sweat. “I was on the treadmill the next day. When your wife runs the marathon, you better get on the treadmill,” said Cruise.

Does he plan to run the marathon next year?

“Yeah, I don’t know,” he grinned. (Source: USA Today)

Tom on Katie: ‘She’s My Inspiration’
Posted by ExtraTV Staff on November 7, 2007 8:08 AM

The stars came out to honor Tom Cruise in New York last night for his legendary Hollywood career, but it was wife Katie Holmes who stole Tom’s focus.

“She’s my inspiration,” Tom told “Extra” as he beamed recalling Katie’s impressive 26-mile marathon. “You know what, the next day I hit the treadmill. I was like, okay if this woman can do it with everything that she does – and believe me she works – she’s got movies and she’s taking care of so many things. It really is an inspiration.”

The Museum of the Moving Image celebrated Tom’s 25 years as one of Tinseltown’s biggest power players with a huge bash at Cipriani. Tom, 45, said the night was a special moment for him.

“No man, sometimes it feels longer, sometimes it feels like that,” he said.

Famous friends like Barbara Walters, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard gathered to watch a series of clips from Tom’s most memorable films, an experience that left him visibly moved and a bit nostalgic.

“Actually when you’re looking back it’s been my life – it’s been the journey,” Tom said.

Tom & Suri Cheer On Katie Holmes In NYC Marathon

NEW YORK, NY (November 4, 2007) — Katie Holmes completed the New York City Marathon and was greeted by Tom Cruise and their daughter Suri at the finish line.

Despite running approximately five and a half hours to complete the 26.2-mile course, Holmes managed to draw up enough energy to support Cruise in return at a special screening for his new film, “Lions for Lambs.”

At the special screening in New York, Holmes, who wore high heels to the event, told Access Hollywood, “It was great. I’m a little tired, but it was worth it.”

Cruise added, “She was impressive. She trained just a little over two months. . . . It’s impressive, [it was] so much fun today.”

Tom Cruise Roars Back To Red Carpet for ‘Lions For Lambs’ Premiere

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 2, 2007) – Tom Cruise attended the premiere of “Lions For Lambs,” his first film since joining the newly resurrected United Artists mini-studio as a producer.

Tom spoke with Access Hollywood’s, Tony Potts about working with director Robert Redford.

“I have studied his career, he is, you know… he is a true legend. He is a true vanguard in cinema. So for me, to be able to have the opportunity to work with him, particularly with the scenes with Meryl — as an actor, you go, ‘Oh this is the sweet part of the bat,‘” Tom said.

“Lions For Lambs” is United Artists’ first film release since Tom and Paula Wagner took over the reigns of the legendary studio.

“It’s a nice moment, particularly this kind of picture to start out with. I feel really excited about it,” Tom said.

He found working with his co-stars, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, to be an exhilarating battle of words on the big screen.

“What starts out as a conversation ends up in a duel. To have that duel, I mean… I remember having a duel with Nicholson in ‘A Few Good Men.‘ With this picture… to have that kind of battle with Meryl is fun. That is the kind of characters you want to play with,” he said.

Tom feels Robert has created a film that will withstand the test of time.

“You look at where we are in society today, and I would be interested to look at this picture 5 years from now. There is really no other director that can deliver it the way that he does,” Tom said of the legendary actor/director.

Tom attended the premiere with his wife, Katie Holmes. Katie is reportedly just days away from running in a marathon.

Tom and Katie’s good friends, Will Smith and David Beckham, also attended the huge premiere.

Will Smith told Access that he and Tom always try to remember the fans.

“There is a connection that we have with people that has to be maintained, that has to be serviced and that has to be reciprocated. A lot of people forget the important of the fans,” said Smith.

“Lions For Lambs” opens on November 9.
