    C/W Productions

Today I found nothing spectaculair but you can read about how it is to work with and for Tom and his production company. Variety has some comments from John Woo, Ed Zwick, Cameron Crowe (he’s making “Elizabethtown” for C/W Productions) and Joe Carnahan (“Narc” and “M:I-3”) regarding Tom’s dedication and hard work as an actor and as a producer. What C/W Productions means and makes for Paramount you can read in Variety’s article Reading is fundamental. Read Tom and Paula’s thoughts On the whirlwind ‘Samurai’ tour and their plans for the future: they’re On clout nine. It’s really nice because you get an inside view of how this producton company is working.

    GG videos!

The internet pirate is cought and charged reports the BBC: Film piracy charges made in court (BBC). Of course most of the other reports are about all the movies and celebs that are passed by for an oscar nomination; for example by Variety and BBC but we all know and pity that. Something else was this story from Teen Hollywood that reports that Tom and ex wife Nicole bumped into each other and spent some nice time together during the after party. News.com.au reports the same story but also comes with another one. Also some news about Penélope: Cruz Joins Cruise’s Church and some box office news from Variety; ‘Samurai’ holds on tight, conquering world and ‘Samurai’ cruises past $200 mil o’seas.

    Oscar Nominees

Sadly the Academy didn’t nominate Tom as Best Actor in this year’s Oscar Awards which will be held on February 29th.

Still, Ken Watanabe earned a nomination for Actor in a Supporting Role and ‘The Last Samurai’ was nominated for Art Direction, Costume Design and Sound.
You can view all nominees at Oscar.com.

  • AFI list

The American Film Institute’s (AFI) award lunch in Los Angeles marked the AFI’s 10 best films of 2003, which are not ranked in any order. The Last Samurai is included on the list as one of the 10 best films (we knew that already). The BBC reports who attended the lunch; Kidman and Bono grace AFI lunch.
MTV has a TLS review/special on their site, you can watch interviews with Tom and Ed Zwick and the trailer and also a movie gallery here.
Of course we’re al anxious to find out who the winners are at the Golden Globe Awards tonight (nominations again: Tom ‘Best Actor’, Ken Watanabe ‘Best Supporting Actor’ and TLS ‘Best Original Score, Motion Picture’). Unfortunately it seems that the tv isn’t airing it here so I’ll have to find out by internet. But anyway more news later!
Last but not least: I found this nice banner that’s changing every few seconds, cool!
